Dave Alcantar ~ Singer/Songwriter, Lead Vocals   Keyboards, Piano & Trumpet   BIOGRAPHY   Dave Alcantar came from a large family of 3 brothers and a sister.  Dave's father, John Sr., was one of the great swing and jazz drummers of his time and knew many of the top swing and jazz drummers and musicians of his day.  They lived in Los Angeles before moving to Anaheim in Orange County, CA.  As the 4 boys grew, John Sr put together a band with his sons in a big band, playing swing tunes of his own time, modern tunes of the day and hired other young musicians for his son's band.  They also played modern tunes of Dave's youth.    David started his full time performing career at age 15 playing at bars and events and as a solo act.  Dave joined with his brothers Gil & John Alcantar, playing throughout Orange County.  By the age of 19, David joined a popular Orange County Band called "Primo". They toured out of state and also worked all over Orange County.  Dave worked with many musicians and worked at the best places and a variety of venues.  Music is his life!    Entertaining up to 7 nights a week, provided the perfect opportunity for learning how to work a crowd. His solid musicianship and dynamic stage presence have endeared him to thousands of audiences. David's charm, personality and joking manner, along with his youthful good looks, a full head of jet black hair and large dark eyes and his multi talent, David became the toast of the town all over Orange County.   Through Dave's friendship with Bill Medley, Bill urged Dave to form a "Journey" Tribute Band to play at his Orange County Pavilion.   It was then that David realized that he sang more naturally like Steve Perry.  Because of this he shifted gears and with the help of Bill Medley, he put together the tribute band "Evolution" and now also joined Stu Simone in "Escape's" Journey Tribute Band, as their lead singer/frontman.    The band feels that the family is very important and the music of Journey is family friendly.   Dedicated to bringing The songs of Journey to as many venues as we can!!   David's Journey Tribute Bands have played to sold out crowds at the O.C. Pavilion; the O.C. Fair; the Fantasy Springs Casino; various venues in Las Vegas & Concerts in the Park throughout Orange County.  He's worked for years at the Villa Nova in Newport Beach, all the Mastro's Restaurants and many other venues.   Dave has played, worked and has close relationships with:   The Righteous Brothers ~ Bill Medley & Bobby Hatfield Bill Medley's Children ~ Darren & McKenna Medley Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds ~ Dan Hamilton, Joe Frank & Tommy Reynolds
